seum cooperated in the realisation of an exhibition organised by the Hungarian Patent Office, featuring notable masters of late 19th-century interior decoration. A significant exhibition of historic and contemporary tapestries was organized in 2014 at the Christian Museum in Esztergom, to which the Museum lent a number of important tapestries. Events During the course of 2013-15 the Museum of Applied Arts was again able to put on a rich and varied programme of events for its visitors. Apart from the regular guided tours in the exhibitions, there were academic lectures and educational programmes. There have also been book presentations and concerts at the museum. The specially organised family weekends have been a regular feature in the main museum building, as well as at Nagytétény Mansion. The contemporary applied arts markets (called Creative Arts Fair) have been held four times a year. The museum took part in the Museums May Day celebrations and at the Sziget Festival, as well as at numerous other events, partly organized by the Friends of the Museum of Applied Arts. Lecture series were organized in connection with our Art Nouveau exhibition, and also the 2013 exhibition of Islamic Art and the 2014 exhibition of commercial posters. What follows is a selection of the most important events that took place during the course of 2013-15. Art Nouveau World Day 8 June 2013; 7 June 2014; 6 June 2015 This series of events, coordinated by the Museum of Applied Arts and the online journal Szecessziós Magazin, was first organized in the framework of the Partage Plus project. Partners from all over Europe held events, lectures and guided tours on the weekend closest to the anniversary of the death of Ödön Lechner and Antoni Gaudí (June 10). In all three years, a lecture series was held at the Museum of Applied Arts, combined with guided tours of the building and our Art Nouveau-themed exhibitions. Long Night of the Museums 22 June 2013; 21 June 2014; 20 June 2015 All venues of the Museum of Applied Arts joined the events of the Long Night of the Museums in all three years. With the doors open late in the night, the Museum received a record number of visitors. The theme in the main building was connected to the Art Nouveau exhibitions in 2013, and the poster exhibition in 2014. For 2015, a special event was also held that night: Periodicals’ Night, which provided a showcase for periodicals and magazines. ICOC-Tour, Vienna-Budapest 19 September 2014 On this day, the Museum of Applied Arts welcomed the International Conference on Oriental Carpets (ICOC), as part of their Vienna-Budapest tour. Lectures about the museum and the collections were held to approximately 100 experts, who also had a chance to study the objects on exhibition and in storage alike.
