Ildikó PANDUR: A Wrought-Iron Exhibition Hall Gateway from 1883: A Contribution to the Architectural History of the Old Exhibition Hall and the Old Music Academy in Budapest

30 Music Academy Archives, 86/1883. According to a letter written by Ferenc Erkel on 20 September 1883, “a door will be broken through to the ground-floor corridor, through which the general public may pass in and out.” I would like to express my gratitude to Dr Zsuzsanna Domokos, director of the Liszt Ferenc Memorial Museum and Research Centre, to her colleague, Miklós Török, and to Ágnes Fügedi of the Central Archives of the Ferenc Liszt Music Academy for their generous help. 31 The related documents (Museum of Applied Arts, Archive 233/1883, 240/1883) are currently missing. 32 Vén, Zsuzsa: Budapest, VI. The periodical Művészi Ipar published several articles by Ferenc Jakabffy on the subject of wrought ironwork, consisting of a multi-part essay and a book review. This explains why a number of illustrations of works of wrought iron appear in the volume. 38 Museum of Applied Arts, Archive, 1884/469. 39 Museum of Applied Arts, Archive 1884/510.1. As a designer, he also saw it as necessary to use old objects as models. See his article titled “A tervező művészek díjazása.” [“In praise of the design arts.”] p. 162.
