It is unfortunately unknown what happened to them, whether there is but a single surviving specimen of the original 110. In 1934 the Hungarian Historical Pic­ture Gallery was incorporated in the Na­tional Hungarian Historical Museum when the public collections were re-divid­ed. The actual transfer took place in 1939 until which date part of the print collec­tion remained on display and the other part was stored in the Museum of Fine Arts. 4 0 In 1939 "the fairly outdated exhibi­tion in the rooms of the Academy was closed. The exhibited prints were re-united with the graphic material and the whole collection of prints and drawings ... re­ceived a new home in the old building of the Hungarian National Museum. Here the material is stored in cases in the same way as at the time of Károly Pulszky of happy memory. In technical terms, this so­lution is perfect, this being the most cus­tomary and appropriate way of preserving a graphic collection and the easiest possi­ble way to handle it." 4 1 There is no data on the "fairly outdated" furnishing pieces designed by Lechner and produced by Jungfer's workshop after the dissembling of the exhibition in the Acad­emy. 4 2 The research of their subsequent history may be largely facilitated by the study of the changes in the approach to museology and in the principles of art ob­ject protection.
