3. Morel-Ladeuil (1820-1888): the so-called Milton Shield. Silver-plated and oxidized electroplate inlaid with gold. Vienna world exhibiton, 1873. It depicts illustrations to Milton's Paradise Lost. Marked with the signet of the South Kensington Museum. Science and Arts Department. The original was produced in 1866: it was awarded with a gold medal on the Paris world exhibition (1867). The original work is owned by the Victoria and Albert Museum. 1 4. Morel-Ladeuil: the so-called Pilgrim Shield. Iron electroplate with silver-plated embossed work , inlaid with gold. Donated by the Baron Mór Hirsch. Marked with the signet of the South Kensington Museum, Science and Arts Department. The original was displayed at the Paris world exhibition (1878). Subject matter: John Bunyan's (1628-1688) The Pilgrim's Progress from this World to Which is to Come ( 1678). In the Elkington collection.
