DEPARTMENT OF FURNITURE Writing desk and armchair Nordiska Kompaniet, Stockholm, 1930s Materials: larch, maple (?) polished black, green linoleum, greyish cotton fabric Writing desk: Height: 74 cm, width: 145 cm, depth: 74 cm The writing desk is in the shape of a horizontal prism. On the left side the support is a curving, linoleum-covered side panel, on the right side a plain cabinet. The cabinet has one door; inside is one lockable drawer and four so-called English drawers. On the door, on a round metal plate, is the company's mark: in the middle the initials NK and around it the inscription AB NORDISKA KOMPANIET. Its condition is shabby and its edges are damaged. Armchair: Height: 84 cm, width: 57.5 cm, depth: 47 cm The chair stands on four column-like legs; the seat is shaped like a trapezium. The curved arms join the square back, which has three horizontal slats. On the underside of the frame, on a square metal plate, is the company mark: NK R 36 CC MOB. Its condition is shabby and the upholstery is damaged and incomplete.
