Tucci marked this part of the text with dots. 22. However, this character nowhere features among the captions pub­lished by Tucci; it does occur at this point in the Tibetan biographies, although it does not fully accord with them. ** The underlined section does not feature in the Tibetan biographies; here the first part of the monastery's name (dNgul chu) or the words "hermit's dwelling" (dben gnas) ought to come next. "In (Ngulchu) Chödzong monastery he met with the venerable lama (Sönam Gyaltsen) and received the blessing of Manjushri and Panjara Mahakala, and [Sönam' s] pandit cap."
