Entering the drawing room I found myself among the props of a Hollywood movie. I had never seen such a modern home in Budapest. The wall opposite was not a wall but an enorm­ous glass window offering a view to the balcony and thence to the city. The drawing room itself was a huge hall taking up the whole length of the villa with tropical plants lined up next to the glass wall and furniture to match this setting. You only needed Katherine Hepburn to come in and enter the scene."
