NAGY Ildikó: Koreai veretes ládák a Hopp Ferenc Kelet-Ázsiai Művészeti Múzeum gyűjteményében
Its cover and the two doors open on three hinges each, which serve as metal ornaments. They take the form of sceptres with openwork ornaments in the shape of swastikas and geometrical lines. On the top and the upper part of the front panel there is an opening band that is connected with ringed devices. The middle part of the two doors is taken up by a brass fitting plate in the form of a disc; there are semicircular fitting plates under and above this. In the centre of the disc-shaped fitting plate there is the opening of the lock surrounded with relief ornaments. The edge of the lower part and its low legs are carved in a curved manner. The inside is covered with black lacquer, with the result that wood can be determined only after the investigation of a restorer. One leg of the front side is defective, there are a few blemishes on the top and on the sides. In spite of these defects, this is an attractive piece made at about the end of the nineteenth century.
