Boros also contain indirect references to this relationship: in a letter dated the September 29, 1889 and written by Ignatius Hirschler it is mentioned that twenty copies of the Kashmir travel diary (Reisebriefe) will be set aside for friends and acquaintances interested in Aurel's activities. Among the names cited is that of Calderoni (II. Boros Vilma: op. cit. p. 106., item No. 83. — MTA MS 1067/266); this could refer to the daughter of István Calderoni (1798—1881), the founder of the firm, and her (former) husband, Ferenc Hopp, who retained the company's original name. Later he travelled with the aim of getting to know the world, as well as nature, and the development of industry and the arts.
