Domitian aureus Made in die same mould as Nos. 20 and 23. Rev.: The enclosing legend is illegible, rc-cngraved; ..PON N. On die bases of these (probably die legend POT) it can be identified using the description of BMC II pi 60, aureus 8—9. The original legend ...POT... (on the Rev.) was accidentally changed to PON when re-engraving. 25. Hadrian denarius Obv.: HADRIANVS —AVG COS III PP; die emperor's head with laurel wreatii r. Rev.: P E E O — T-ASSOVG / The first "E" letter was engraved later, the fourth and eighth letters arc replaced widi engraved circles, also in die profile./ Pictas standing 1. widi hands raised; tiiere is an altar at her right foot. cf. Rev.: + IHS XPS OPTIMUS MAXIMUS SALvVM FAC; witii the number 12 appearing in Harnes in the middle; IHS (concave). This is not the usual type of Christ illustration; tiiere has been no analogies found in the literature so far.
