Events 1991

Just like in the previous years, the Budapest Museum of Applied Arts lended several pieces of its collections for events organized by other museums; the most significant ones among these were the following exhibitions: Leonardo da Vinci (National Széchenyi Library, Budapest) Churches Living Together (Christian Museum, Esztergom) Sacred Art (Budapest Historical Museum), The Role of Women in Decorative Arts (Kecskemét Gallery), Art Nouveau Ceramics of the Zsolnay factory (Rippl-Rónai Museum, Kaposvár). 1991 was also marked by two, rather sad changes in the Museum's life. Márta Péter, the assistant director of the Budapest Museum of Applied Arts, died after a short, serious illness in summer; and one of the best applied arts historian, Professor Béla Boros, also left us last year. Separate obituaries are paid to tiicir memory.
