6. A pair of gloves Hungary, 1830-40 Handknitted, of cotton thread and coloured glass beads. 42 x 12 cm The gloves reach up beyond the elbow and have no fingers. The palm is plain, while the back of the hand is decorated with a bunch of forget-me-nots and roses. From the wrist, branches of flowers and leaves alternate with stripes of pierced, geometri­cal motifs. The maker of die gloves was not consistent when sewing: he or she sometimes confu­sed two pierced rows of different direction. Purchased from Mrs. J. Csere. Inv.No. 91.42.1-2 7. Two lace stoles, "crinoline lace" Chantilly, 1850-55 Bobbin lace of black silk thread. 72 x 474, 41 x 550 cm The two laces were probably made for die same item of clothing, they have similar patterns, the larger is in the broader stole. There are flower patterns outiined with thicker thread in die net of hexagons. The lobed edges are trimmed widi roses and a garland of small flowers. The arches arc decorated widi bunches of smaller and lar­ger flowers. Inv.No. 91.54.1-91.55.1 8. Mantelet France, die second half of die 19th century Robbin lace of black silk yam, "guipure de Puy". Height: 63 cm The mantelet has long sleeves, a round nackline, widi an open front and a zig-zag bottom. The basic net consists of picot bars, widi a flower stem on each side of the front and a garland of flowers on the back. The bottom is lined widi volutcd, geometrical ornaments. Purchased from Péter Dudás. Inv.No. 91.127.1 (The pieces with No.7 and 8. belong to a lace collection of 76 items, collected and organized by Countess K. "A Tribute to Noémi Ferenczy" Rózsa Polgár, 1990-91 Tapestry weaving of polychrome wool. 116 x 77 cm The portrait of Noémi Ferenczy is in front of a wavy, striped background of browny red and blue, enframed widi grey. Marked with "PR" initials in the right bottom cor­ner. From die exhibition organised on the occa­sion of die birth centenary of Béni and No­émi Ferenczy. Vigadó Galéria, 1991. "David's Dream" Designed by József Barkóczy, made by An­namária Kőszegi, 1989 Tapestry weaving of polychrome wool and metal thread, 248 x 167cm Fantastic birds and a giraffe set against a dark brown and blue base, enframed with green. To the left, tiiere are redspots with feathers; to the right, there are symbols: a stemped receipt, stylised writing and an old photo.
