The two items of furniture are related in structure, but the one bought recently is more modest and simpler and is likely to have been made earlier. The one already in the museum's collection was originally meant to be an "ornamental commode" at an exhibition. In all likelihood the maker of this older piece was also Károly Kozma. Purchased from a private collection. Inv. No. 88.54.1 28. Chair Designed by Carlo Bugatti c. 1900 Solid walnut, with rich tin and bone inlays, copper veneering, lengths of twisted cord, and natural pig-skin upholstery. The chair can be linked with the items of furniture by Bugatti shown at the Turin World Exhibi­tion of 1902.
