Pendant, gold Hungarian (unmarked), end of the 19th century. Breadth 2.4 cm, length 3.8 cm It consists of sections of cylindrical shape bent into semi-circles and entwined around each other, and of a pendent section in the shape of a water-drop. Encased almandine stones, one in the inside part, one in the middle, and one in the pendent section. The surface is partly engraved, partly polished. Presented by Mrs. Gyula Ladányi (Budapest) Inv. Cachepot, copper By Ferenc Kiss, Budapest, c. 1920 Length 23.5 cm, diameter of base 17 cm On its low sprawling foot are 16 clove-like sections gently depressed, above which are 16 ring-shaped parts. It is from the rings that the bottom of the cachepot is built into the body, which is slightly bell-shaped. On the bottom of the body on each of the ridges of the eight bulges fashioned like spearshaped leaves there are six perpendicular articulated parts. Above the leaves there is a series of sixteen slightly-embossed ribs ending in notches on the rim. The surface has a special finish including patination and traces of hammering deliberately retained for aesthetic purposes. Marked : on the bottom a round medal-like plate welded on with the embossed inscription and emblem "KISS F. ÖTVÖSTANÁR, Bp. (Budapest); (F. Kiss teacher of the jeweller's art, Budapest), a cup in the middle. Purchased from László Kiss Horváth (Budapest). Inv. No. 87.65 3. Jug, silver, with wooden handle By Jakov Vitaliev, Moscow, 1801 Height 22.3 cm, diameter of base 8.5 cm The foot, slightly embossed and mounted on a square pediment, is connected to the urn-shaped body by a cylindrical ring section. On the lower part of the body a line of engraved motifs like spear-shaped leaves runs all round. The same line of motifs can be seen on the removable lid as well. On the upper part of the cup there is engraved and stamped-on ornamentation embellished with rosettes. Hallmarked on the edge of the base, on its lid and on the upper part of the handle : Moscow (St. George) and the master's mark. Purchased from Anna Zádor Inv. No. 87.94 4. Breast-pin, miniature picture painted on ivory in alpacca frame By Ödön Dankó, Budapest, 1920s H. 6 cm, b. 4.5 cm Standing, oval shaped, ornamented with a string of pearls soldered on to the plain frame. The miniature picture presents a woman dancer, the dominant colours being light yellow, amber, brown and black. On the reverse side is a steel pin. Marked "DANRO"-the mark of Ödön Dankó (1889-1958).
