of it only. The glaze is in both cases smooth and ivory white. With the help of the analogous dated pieces of other collections, we date the cups between 1675 and 1725. Blanc de Chine objects occupy a special place in the history of the 17th and 18th century Chinese porcelain. The most beautiful statuettes of the age were made in Te-hua and its surroundings in the late 17th and early 18th centuries. To promote their proper appraisement, still unpublished pieces of smaller 16. WINE BOWL AND SPOON collections might also be of some value.
