REPORT ON THE ACTIVITIES OF THE HOPP MUSEUM OF EASTERN ASIATIC ARTS IN 19 7 3 In 1973 our collections were enriched by 47 pieces. We can not give account of outstanding pieces among the purchases, but the new acquisitions completed favourably the Mongolian, Viet-Namese and the other collections. The exhibitions of the Museum in 1973: "The Art of Chinese Pottery" in the China Museum was opened on 16th October, in course of the Museums' Month. The exhibition was organized and the catalogue was written by Géza Pajor head of department. — A two room exhibition was opened in the Castle Museum of Nagytétény on 28 April 1973, entitled ,,The Art of Viet-Nam" arranged by Géza Pajor. — Mrs Vera Horváth art historian organized also in the Castle Museum a small but successful exhibition during the Museums'Month : „Indián Dolls and Indian Applied Arts". Mr. K. S. Pillai, director of the International Dolls'Museum (New Delhi), to whom we are greatly indebted for his most kindly patronage of our Museum, has donated to us 56 Indian dolls. The visitors — whose majority were young ones and groups — exceeded in number the 22.000 people. The last year was lucky as regards the study trips: László Ferenczy head of department terminated his three months' study tour in Japan, Mrs Vera Horváth, keeper of the Indian Collection worked for two months in India, Géza Pajor head of department took a trip of a month to Viet-Nam and Károly Gombos director went on a two weeks' trip to visit North-Korea. These travels will positively affect the scientific and cultural work of the Museum. The last year the Museum was able to wellcome a great number of visitors and scientists from abroad: Ryoichi Kuroda (chief governor of Osaka prefecture), the director of Tenri Museum (Japan), Ikeda (Tokyo), Nihon Keizai Shinbun (the delegation of the Japanese TV), Shoyaeddin Shafa (Teheran, viceminister), the delegation of the Indian Parliament (14 people), Ser-Ojav (Institute of History, Mongolian Academy of Sciences), L. Malinina (Moscow, vice director of the Museum of Eastern Cultures), T. Bezobrazova (Moscow, head of department of Ministry), the group of scientists of the Georgian Academy (headed by Prof. Kalandadze, Tbilisi), the director of the Lenin Museum (Moscow), H. Kurdian (armenologist, U.S.A.), Soviet scientists from Moscow, Leningrad, Baku, Yerevan ; B. Friedl (Halle), Utz Poley (Leipzig), Carmen Blacker (London), and our exhibitions were visited also by the chief
