Ferenczy made a study trip in Japan between September 19th 1972 — January 23rd 1973. His fellowship was organized by the Kokusai Gakuyu Kai of Tokyo, the Administering Agency for UNESCO in Japan. The main points of his program were the study of wodern ex­hibition and preservation techniques of Far Eastern — Japanese and Chinese — works of art and the study of Japanese applied arts of the Tokugawa and Meiji periods. 238
