CRANE: JACKET FOR A BOOK for costumes, frontispiece design for the periodical "Jugend", design in colour for mural ornaments, and for wall-papers, printed paper designs, designs for wall-hangings could be studied at the exhibition. The artist exhibited his sketches made in different European and African countries; drawings, pen-and-ink sketches, pastel, water-colours, studies from nature, landscapes, monuments and details of the country-side in Italy as well as at Gibraltar. Among his numerous designs for textile patterns those exhibited in the execution of his wife rise above the others: household textiles, table clothes, table covers, cushions, coverlets, and other works of art. In considerable strength were ranged the proofs of Crane's illustrative and book making art: illustrations for children books, and picture­books. His works that showed drafts for calendars, different decorations for books, in­vitation cards and other drawings, can be included in the category of applied graphics. The different sets of furniture, like dressing-room, billiard-room, library, etc. were also on the view in plot. Of the drawings special attention is deserved by the cottage plans and models made by the master's architect son, Lionel Crane.
