house, along the line Kaposvár - Dombóvár, 7 km east of Kaposvár, in the Southern Transdanubia. Tables I and II summarizes the per cent distribution according to sex and age of the examin crania as well as the details of the osteological material . Following the traditional usage in the obtaining of the meatric data (MARTIN, 1928), a maximum of 54 measurements referring to the brain case and the facial skeleton, depending on the state of preservation of the skulls, were taken and 11 indices calculated. The male measurements and indices are given in Tables III-IV, those of the females in VVI, and those of the children and juveniles in VII-XII. The angular measurements and morphoscopic characteristics of the males are summarized in Table XIII, those of the females in Table XIV. The parameters of the male and female series are submitted in Tables.-''XV and XVI. By the application of the usual anthropological ,'methods , the distribution of the main morphoscopic features (SCHEIDT 1927); MARTINSALLER (1953) are compiled in Tables XVII-XVIII.' The results concerning the study of the several craniomorphological anomalies are given in Table XIX. Stature was established on the basis of the measurements of the long bones (WOLANSKI, 1953)(Tables XX-XXl). In the anthropological characterization of the osteological material, the morphometric date calculated from the individual measurements, the morphometric data, and the several morphoscopic characters as well as the rates of distribution of the mesurement categories are assessed per sex, and the facies of the partial population represented by the exposed cemetery is defined on these bases. As a result of the studies it can be established that the skull of the male series from Toponár is long, narrow, and that the mean value is situated, by the cranial index, near the upper limit of dolichocrany ; concerning its distribution, also dolichocrany is represented in the highest percentage. The brain case is moderately high, with orthocrany characteristic according to the per cent distribution of the length-height index,
