characteristics, where values +2 and +1 denote masculinity, -2 and -1 femininity, whereas value 0 stands for an intersex form of appearance, men show the average sexuality value of +0.67, women that of -0.70. Since they are at an equal distance from 0 in both directions ,the sexual expressedness of the Pécs population may be called harmonious. These data may be better illustrated by the comparison of the Pécs material with the corresponding results of some other series. As it is seen in Table 4, the sexual character is very expressed on the crania of the Pécs males, regarding the mean values of the 12 characters of the cranium; at the same time the mean value of the 10 characters of the post-cranial bones is relatively low, as compared with the other series of the Table. In view of the fact that the sexuality degree is marked more exactly by the post-cranial bones than by the cranium, the mean values gained by us bear out the conclusion that the Pécs male series could not belong to a masculine, gerontomorphic race taxonomically. On the other hand, the female series presents a decidedly feminine character both in the mean values of the cranium and the post-cranial bones, if we compare the data to the mean values of the other cemeteries. Consequently the Pécs females could have belonged to some feminine, or paedomorphic race taxonomically. VARIABILITY AND MORPHOLOGICAL CHARACTERISTICS The calculated parameters and indices of the examined skeletal material of Pécs are contained in Tables 5-6. Beside the mean data of the measurements and indices I have given the classification of the measurement according to ALEKSEYEV-DEBETS. By the help of this we can interpret the form of appearance of the mean value at once, on one hand, and may compare the male and female values with each other, on the other.
