CSALLÁNY, Director of the Museum of the Comitat Szabolcs-Szatmár. N. KALICZ, archeologist , ENECHESCU, anthropologist (Romania), ana the present author participated in the excavations made on the Koldusdomb, while A. GOMBÁS, retired teacher, assisted in saving the material exposed in the field of the AC "Városfoldje"-Béke. The anthropological material of a total of 133 graves of the sites concerned (Koldusdomb: 13 graves; Petőfi utca 49: 75 graves; Városföldje-Béke AC: 11 graves; Zöldmező AC: 18 graves) was safely exposed and deposited in the Anthropological Department of the Hungarian Natural History Museum, Budapest. Except for those deriving from the Koldusdomb, the cemeteries have not been elaborated arche ologically so far (CSALlAîïY 1953). According to the archeological material and the excavation logbooks, the cemeteries originate inferably from the seventh century, thus permitting the combined analysis of the populations of the four cemeteries. MATERIAL AND METHOD In the course of excavations the anthropological material of 133 graves were exposed: the skull and skeletal remains of 119 individuals, the skull of 11 individuals, and the skeleton of only 3 individuals. The material consists of the osteological remains of 11 Infantilis I, 9 Infantilis II, 9 Juvenilis, and 104 Adultus. Distribution as to sex and age is given in Table I,, while Table II. contains the distribution per sex and age groups of the excavated skulls. The male measurements and indices are given in Tables III-IV. , those of the females in Tables V-VI. , and those of the children and juveniles In Tables V-VIII.
