Anthrop. Hung. X. 1971. The Anthropological Examination of a Tenth Century Population at Tengelic, Hungary By Kinga K.ÉRY King Stephen Museum, Székesfehérvár General data The cemetery of the examined population was excavated in the northern confines of the village Tengelic, Com. Tolna, in I960. The cemetery is situated on the southwestern part of a sand dune running N-S, with a small brook along its western border. The graves are arranged parallel with the longitudinal axis of the dune, more or less regularly in two rows. With respect to the approximative number of the annihilated graves, the excavated osseous material represents about 85 per cent of those interred in the cemetery. Excavation was led by the author; in the excavation of Graves 1-18 also Dr. Gy. Dezső, in that of Graves 1, 4, 5, 15, 16 also Dr. J. Nemeskéri participated; thanks are expressed for their kind assistance also in this place.
