19 AMERIKAI MAGYAR SZÓ January 30. 1953 ‘Antisemitism” in the Peoples Democracies: A III World War Frame-up In judging the widespread charges of antisemitism in the people’s democracies ana in tne Soviet Union, let us remember the basic premise of Anglo- Saxon jurisprudence: "He v.h^ seeks justice, should come to the court with clean hands.” Let us, therefore, first take a look at the complainants who bring the charge of antisemitism against the people’s democracies and the Soviet Union. E'or, obviously, if we find that their hands are not clean, if their hands, in fact, are figuratively speaking dripping with blood of the 20 million victims of the nazi cannibals WHOM THEY ARE NOW RESTORING TO THEIR PRE-WAR POWER, then we are confronted not with a bona fide charge but with a gigantic frame-up! The charge of antisemitism in the people’s democracies originated in the political, economical, ideological headquarters cf Wall Street and in their press. It is the masters of Wall St. restoring the Krupps and the nazi generals to their old power a , a are freeing nazi war cri- l Í .nals by the hundreds, all in the hope of gaining the Germans as their allies in their anti-soviet war policy. They Want 12 German divisions in their strategic calculations. The charge of antisemitism originates in the big business press which did not work up one-thousandth of the lather at the time of the mass murder of Jews in the názi extermination camps. It originates in the press which never condemned the jim-crowing, terrorizing, and suppressing of millions of American citizens of dark skin. It originates in the big press which never uttered a word over the legal lynching of Willie McGee and the Mar- tinsville seven, which is riot disturbed over the existence of organized antisemitism in the United States, the existence of “numerus clausus” on American universities, the elimination of Jews from employment in most banks, insurance companies, real estate organizations, the exclusion of Jews from most of the so sailed exclusive residential areas in suburbs, fram “exclusive hotels” and golf courses. These papers are not shedding any tears over the systematic uprooting of hundreds of thousands of natives in Malaya and Kenya, they are not worried over the degradation of millions of dark skinned human beings in South Africa, they are not excited over the nazi like treatment of Jews in Irak. Only when a conspiracy is discovered in a peoples democracy and among the accused there are i handful of Jew’s, then all of . sudden they discover Hitherto msuspected love and concern ,ver the Jewish people. The bar of world conscience should therefore throw out this complainant right at the start: ;jc The real purpose of these people’s coming to the bar of world .pinion with these fantastic harges—and with unclean .lands—is to cover up the increased tempo of their war preparation, to prepare the ideological atmosphere for the acceptance of their suicidal war plans by the anxious and highly ioubtful American people and imong them the Jewish population. It is a frame-up and cover-up m force the Jewish people— md the entire nation—to accept the enlistment of the worst nazi war criminals in their scheme of “defending western civilization.” It is a cover up job to make the murderers of millions of Jews and other euro- peans acceptable to the relatives of their victims in ihe Jnited States. What about the role of the state of Israel and of the zion- sts in this frame-up? The leaders of the new state pf Israel who mortgaged the embodiment of the centuries old dreams of the Jewish people: the state of Israel, to the unconscionable and immoral financial tycoons of Wall Street, ire thus paying off for the fi- : .lancial aid and loans they re- | ceived. Out of the state 'of Is- j real they made a war base for I the atom diplomats, an ally of Wall Street: of.neo-nazi West- j ern Germany, of Franco, Tito, and Chiang Kai Shek. Aside of their obligation aris- j ing from their financial sub- j servience to Wall Street, these I leaders of the State . of Israel I are using the charges of anti- | semitism against the people’s ' democracies to cover up the j catastrophic economic situation 1 their policies have brought upon ! Israel. What now, of the actual charge of aptisemitism in Czechoslovakia and in other people’s democracies? The charge is based on the fact that among the 14 accused Czehoslovaks 11 were Jews, of whom 8 were excuted. ! These people were accused of j espionage and sabotage. They confessed their crimes. Many of ; them were connected with the Zionist movement: They have been identified as Zionist bourgeois natinonalists. Before we deal in some details with their crime and punishment we should consider the significance the very fact that as Jews they occupied ve&.«MBasa \ £ AMERIKAI r Magyarázó Editorial Office: 22 East 17th Street, New York 3, N. Here is a government which j is accused of being ant-isemitic j ing party was a Jew and in high ! ing party was a Jew and high places of that the government were scores of Jews. If that government was really antise- mitic can anyone imagine that Jewish people would have been permited to occupy the highest positions in the government in the first place? They compare that government with Hitler’s. Can anyone imagine that the highest ranking member of the nazi party in Hitler’s tine and eight leading members of his governmentj would have been Jews? Only a madman could have entertained ! such suppositions in earnest, i 5fet the Wall Street press and their agents in the Zionist! movement charge with straight | face that the peoples democ- | racies and the Soviet Union follow the same policies as Hitler! Slansky , and his associates were arrested, tried and punished because conspired against and sabotaged the state and not because they were Jews. And the same goés for the nine er- | rested Soviet doctors six of j whom happened to have been\ Jews. The very fact, too, that among j j the top coterie of Soviet phy- | sicians, treating the highest ! dignitaries of the Soviet state, there were comparatively many Jewish doctors is, likewise a proof that there never existed ■ any discrimantion against Jew- 1 ish doctors and Jewish people in the Soviet Union. Those who cry antisemitism want the world believe that it is simply impossible for Jewish i people in the people’s democra- I cies to commit such crimes as j they are being charged with. ! Yet history shows differently, i History tells us, that certain strata of the Jewish, people were always ready to sell out their less fortunate brethren to file worst enemies of their people. The Hungarian Jews, for instance should remember very well that when murderous gangs : of Horthy’, the Pronays, the ! Francia Kiss Mihály were mas- isacring innocent Jews in 1919, i the Marijfred Weiss’ the Baron Lancz’s were busily cooperating i with Horthy and his henchmen. While tens of thousands of Hungarian Jews were being des- ; troyed economically, culturally, the leaders of Jewish big bu- Í siness found it very renumera- tive to cooperate with Hungarian fascism a cooperation which they maintained long after the nazis actually took over which some of them even continued in -the concentration j extermination camps of Auschwitz and Mauthausen as Ka- po’s for the mass murderers! Why then is it so impossible to believe that some of them are cooperating today with Wall Street imperialists? These are some of the as- ; pects of the present charges of antisemitism against the people’s democracies. We realize there are many other aspects of this propaganda barrage which is part and parcel of Wall Street’s cold and hot war diplomacy. Let no one thiijg that it is directed primarily against the peoples democracies and the Soviet Union. It is aimed as much, if not more so, against the peoples of the United States, whom the munition- makers and war profiteers want to ensnare into unquestioning acceptance of their mad and suicidal war plans. What are the lessons of this campaign? 1. Don’t be a sucker, don’t swallow the bait, it may kill you! 2. Learn the facts .. all the facts. 3. Smash the frame-up against the land of people’s democracies where antisemitism is a crime and punished by ;law! Smash all frame-up springing from the same source, I the frame-up of labor leaders under the Smith Act, the frame tip of oreign born under the Me Carran law, the frame-up of I the Rosenbergs. 4. Fight ail forms of chauvinism, including antisemitism. 5. And last but not least, fight for peace. For only in the rational atmosphere of peace j could mankind rid itself of all the prejudice, fear and hysteria which the munition makers foster as a cover up for i their plan of war and world. ! destruction.
