I am happy to tell you that the Wage-Price Board has now exempted from wage controls firms having an­nual sales or revenues of less than fifty million dol­lars and sixty or fewer employees. In the opinion of our legal counsel, this frees from restriction all but a handful of our parish ministers and most state conference organizations. I hope that our churches which failed to give adequate raises to their min­isters and lay employees last fall because of the freeze will now feel free to give fair and equitable increases. Beretz, Bishop ORDINATION Mrs. Coralyn Thompson Medyesy, pastor of the Grace Reformed of Gary, Indiana is the first woman to be ordained to the Christian Ministry in the 400 year old history of the Hungarian Reformation ac­cording to Bishop Arpad L. Beretz of Hammond, Indiana, Chief Executive of the Calvin Synod Con­ference of the United Church of Christ, a non-geo- graphical Synod tracing its roots and heritage to the Reformed Church in Hungary. Mrs. Medyesy, the wife of the Reverend Laslo Medyesy, pastor of the First Reformed Church of Whiting, Indiana, is of American Welsh-English stock. Nevertheless, she conducts bi-lingual services in the English and Hungarian languages. She is also the first non-Hungarian to be called as pastor to a church in the Calvin Synod. The Rev. Mrs. Medyesy has a BA degree in Sociology and Recreation from the University of Washington and has completed a combined program of Theology and Social Work for her Master of Di­vinity degree from McCormick Theological Sem­inary in Chicago and a Master of Social Work from the University of Illinois, Chicago Circle Campus. She has traveled extensively. In 1967 she mar­ried the Rev. Laslo Medyesy. They have a daughter Cara Noel Ildikó. Her ordination took place on May 28, 1972 in Gary, Indiana, Bishop Arpad L. Beretz officiat­ing.
