REFORMÁTUSOK LAPJA 15 President’s HELP FILL VACANCIES!!! This is an urgent call to both ministers and church members! Ministers who are willing and ready to serve in our fellowship should notify me immediately as we have four vacancies again and there seems to be no end of need for qualified ministers .... At the same time, church members are asked to think and act soberly, realistically and responsibly. It is NOT true that we have qualified bi-lingual pastors galore! It is cruel to keep the minister’s salary on poverty level! It is utter irresponsibility to reject qualified candidates in a reckless exercise of voting privileges!... VACANCIES: (1) GARY, INDIANA. Administrator: Rev. Dr. Arthur A. Ludwig, P.O. Box 3192, East Chicago, Ind. 46312. (2) KALAMAZOO, MICH. Administrator: Rev. Desmond D. Parragh, 8260 West Foster Terr., Norridge, Chicago, 111. 60656 (3) NEW YORK, N.Y. (69th St.). Please, contact the Synod President! (4) WHITING, IND. Administrator: Rev. Desmond D. Parragh, president of the Western Classis. WE ARE IN! Due to the fact that 75% of the eligible ministers in our Synod have applied for the FAMILY PROTECTION PLAN, as of June 1, 1969 these ministers are covered by the Plan: A. Beretz, L. Berze- viczy. J. Butosi, G. Csia, L. Egry, A. Elek. J. Kecskemethy, I. Kovács Sr., Z. Kovács, J. Marsalko, D. Parragh, F. Vitéz, E. Zugor. CONGRATULATIONS! In addition to this joyful announcement, the following points should be clear to all of us: (1) The above mentioned 13 pastors will be billed by the New York Office. When you receive the bill it will reflect the fact of your coverage as of June 1, 1969. PLEASE DO NOT SEND YOUR MONEY FOR THE FAMILY PROTECTION PLAN UNTIL YOU GET THE BILL. (2) THOSE WHO ARE NOT ENROLLED MUST JOIN WITHIN 90 Rev. Dr. John Bütösi DAYS from June 1, 1969 in order to avoid the necessity of proving insurability. OUR DRAKES-CONGO CHURCH was dissolved on May 20, 1969 as only 3-4 old persons remained of the once flourishing congregation. On behalf of the Synod Dr. John Butosi, president, Rev. Francis Vitéz, secretary, and Rev. Joseph Marsalko, treasurer (who also conducted the last services seven years ago!) were present when the remaining members declared the church dissolved. Mr. & Mrs. Alexander Buza kept the books in exemplary order to the last minutes! The church building was sold and the $325.84 saving was turned over to the Synod. THE CONFERENCE COUNCIL met in Columbus, Ohio on May 19-20, 1969 in connection with the Drakes- Congo closing, discussing several pertinent problems. They also met leaders of the Columbus congregation and their pastor, the Rev. Zoltán Szabó. It was good to see harmony, and experience warm hospitality! THE YOUTH CONFERENCE of our Synod will be led by the Rev. Arpad Beretz as director and Mr. Ernest Derjan as assistant according to the decision of the Conference Council. Registration deadline is July 15 as the camp starts on Aug. 17 We still need pastors and adult advisors. For application form write to Benny Borsay, 337 Dorsey Ave., Morgantown, W.
