Topic for Feb. 4. YOUNG PEOPLES’ PART IN INTERDENOMINATIONAL WORK. COMMITTEES The Chairman of the various Committee and the Field Secretaries have Ibeen long informed of their appointments; some have begun work, others are, probably, thinking about it. All -that is necessary and lacking, now, is a formal announcement of the Committees which have been appointed to carry out the wotk of our C. E. Union during the year. So here goes. First: Our Field Secretaries to whom we are looking for unusual and brilliant service, are: — Andrew Varga Alpha, N. J. East. Anna Melegh Homestead, Pa. Penn. William Akos Toledo, O. Ohio and New York. Rose Toth East Chicago, Ind. West. Lesson: Luke 10:1; Phil. 4:15-19. Young People, this is Christian Endeavor Day. It is fitting, therefore, that we should meditate upon such a topic as the above, since C. E. work is truly interdenominational. We ought to be enthralled that C. E. is not limited by any one denomination or fettered to the walls of any one church. To-day unquestionably there is a salutary and growing tendency towards more harmony among the denominations, and it must be admitted that a large part of this amity is directly due to the efforts of the young people. They seem to have buried old prejudices, hidebound bigotries and contention. In this movement, we are happy to note, C. E. is taking the lead. Take our own református churches for example. The largest number of them belongs to the Reformed Church of German origin, others are parts of the Presbyterian Church, a handful stands alone as Független and a few are under the wings of the Dutch Reformed Church. Yet when we look at our various C. E. gatherings held in recent years practically all of these churches had representatives there under the C. E. banner. This is something that has been difficult, oyea even impossible to achive without the C. E. and with the C. E. how easy it is. The barriers and the walls seem to crumble before the appeal and purpose of the C. E. To further this end, young people, is OUR special interdenominational work cut out for us! On this day we should lay stress upon the importance of -interdenominational work. The feeling of esprit de corps should quicken our hearts and make us realize that, though we belong to different groups, essentially we arc one — a bunch of God’s young people trying seriously to follow the Master. jó szolgálatot tesznek lapunknak, ha támogatják azokat az üzleteket, amelyek lapunkban hirdetnek s ha vásárlásnál hivatkoznak lapunkra.
