459 A másik szöveg Tamás Bernáttól, egy Amerikában született fiataltól származik. Tőle egy imádságot már közöltünk tavaly, a novemberi szám 505. oldalán. Az a tavalyi fillmore-i táborban készült, s mivel Bernát a magyar nyelvben nem túl erős, együtt fordítottuk magyarra. Az idei imádságot nem fordítottuk le. Ahogy megírta, úgy a- dom tovább. Nem, mintha idegen nyelvű részt akarnék nyitni A Szívben (bár nem kevesen javasolják, épp az ifjúsági rovatra gondolva), hanem fiataljaink egy része nyelvi és lelki helyzetének hitelesebb érzékeltetése kedvéért: Istenem! Thank you for this beautiful week at Sík Sándor Cserkészpark and for the wonderful friendships we all have here. But as I think of my friends and the many people that I love here, I can’t help but feel sad. I think of the love I have for you and the powerful love you show me each day, and I know that many of my friends here don’t feel that love. And I know you are constantly with me. When I have prayers repeatedly answered, when I feel a power inside me which leads me, when I feel this immense happiness and love I never felt before, I know you are beside me, guiding me. And yet I’m an oddity, an interesting spectacle, a man who can talk Christian but doesn’t always act Christian. They don’t see the immense love I feel for you and the love I feel for them. They don’t see the pain I feel because they don’t possess the same relationship with you as I do. They don’t see how easy it is to receive this love from you and how dramatically it could change their lives. And your requirements are so simple. All they have to do is acknowledge that they need you and to ask you to come into their lives and they would be saved. And even if just one person did this in this tábor, it would make me so very happy. I love you, Lord, and I love everyone here. And I’d like to thank you again for coming into and changing my life.
