Grace be with you all. Titus 3:15 Rev. Alexander S. Haraszti, Ph.D., M.D. President, The Hungarian Baptist Conference of the American Continents Henry General Professional Building, Suites 3 & 4 1135 Hudson Br 1dge Road Stockbridge, Georgia 30281 April 16. 1987 Re: Invitation to the 81st Convention I still cherish warm memories about our meeting and discussions in New York on March 2, when a special committee of three from your Convention met with a special committee of three from our Convention for friendly discussions to pave the way leading to friendly relations and cooperation between our two Conventions. The possibility of unification was discussed also as the ideal goal that both parties would like to reach. In the spirit of these discussions, I extend a cordial invitation to you, the president, to your executive committee, missions and literary committee, to leaders and ministers of your Convention, along with the membership of your Convention to please attend our Annual Convention meeting at the Hungarian Baptist Summer Camp in Rama, Ontario, Canada, to be held July 2-4, 1988. We plan to have a business meeting of our Convention Saturday afternoon at 2:00 P.M., July 2. This business meeting would not take more than two hours and it would be attended by members of our Convention. All the rest of the Convention time would be dedicated to mission activities, Bible studies, sermons, singing, and youth activities. Your members and leaders are cordially invited to attend all these activities. I would like to extend a cordial invitation also for you, or some minister designated by you, to deliver an address (sermon, Bible study, personal testimony, exhortation for missions, and the like) to those people attending our Convention. 1 hope you will see fit to convey this cordial and brotherly invitation to leaders and ministers of your Convention and to members of your Convention. Referring to our recent telephone conversation, you recommended to me to convene our two ad hoc committees to continue the dialogue we started on March 2. I am very much for this. Please allow me to assure you that I am in full agreement with you that we must examine the Biblical basis of our cooperation. First you have recommended for this meeting to be the morning of July 7, Thursday; then an alternative luncheon meeting on July 9, Saturday, both meetings in Toronto. As I indicated to you, I probably cannot attend on July 7, but this should be no reason to postpone. If Thursday morning is better for your committee, I will ask Rev. Olah, Rev. Mészáros and Rev. Herjeczkl to meet with your committee. If, on the other hand, you should prefer Saturday, July 9, then we will be happy to meet at that time. Let's pray that the Lord of mercies prepare our hearts for reconciliation and cooperation. I am looking forward to hearing from you at your earliest convenience, and also to meeting you and your people at our Convention. ASH:ssb Dear Brother Haraszti: It was good to see you In New York City during the historical meeting between the special representatives of our Conventions. Veres Lajos testvér szólót, a Bállá leányok duettet énekeltek Erzsébet csodálatos zongorakíséretével, melyet egyébként egész napon át örömmel hallgathattunk. Herjeczki Géza testvér a 103.
