Ferenc múzeumba. Tárolásuk azonban méretüknél fogva szinte megoldhatatlan feladat volt. Elhelyezésük 1965-66-ban nyert megoldást, amikor szegedi építészek ötletére beltéri beépítésre kerültek. A súlyos vas táblákat „Sándor vezeték nevű hordárral vitették át a múzeumból, aki igen nagy összeget, valami 10.000 Ft-ot kért" a szállításért. Az Alabárdos étterem belső terének tervezésekor, a cégért Rédai Ferenc belsőépítész a borozóban helyezte el, hangulatos hátfalat képezve a helyiségben.

32 Azóta az étterem nevet (Zodiakus) és tulajdonost váltott, jelenleg zárva van. A Pécsről származó öntöttvas vasáru cégér ma is ugyanazon a helyen, az Oskola u. 13. számú műemléki védettséget élvező un Béró ház földszinti helyiségében, más múzeumi tulajdonban lévő tárgyakkal együtt a zárt ajtók mögött van. MÁRTA T. KNOTIK TRADE SIGN FOR A HARDWARE SHOP Present study follows the history of castiron relieves from the end of the 1880s until today; from Pécs, through Baja to the city of Szeged. In his advertisement of a hardware shop in 1932 Dezső Varga called visitors' attention with the title ""What is worth visiting in Szeged". One of the wooden relieves (280*140 cm) made for the trade sign depicts metal-tools used in the household, while the other depicts metal-tools used on a farm arranged in a composition. Both of them have the inscription "cast by A. Jiratkó Pécs". Albin Jiratkó (1851 - 22

nd February 1903, Pécs) was a famous "sculptor and altar-maker". Data regarding the casts are written also on the wooden relieves: "Cast by Ganz and Co Budapest". There is no date on them, but it is known that the inventory of György Vasváry, trader of metalwork in Pécs, contains the wooden relieves already in 1890; and the iron trade sign advertises the famous company on the wall of the Vasváry house already in 1892. In 1899 Gyula Drescher, metal trader from Baja bought both the wooden and the iron relieves together with other products. Later his assistant, Géza Kréneisz got the wooden relieves, when he became independent. The museum of Baja bought them from Kréneisz's widow in 1970, where they are on display even today. s other assistant, who was supposedly Dezső Varga. Locals report that after the nationalization of the Varga hardware shop the relieves remained on their place (3. Hid Street). Then around 1959 they were brought to the museum of Szeged. Their placement was solved in 1965-66, when they were built in the interior of the Alabárdos Restaurant in Szeged.
