Homestead, Pa. District Office News The William Penn Association is proud to announce the appointment of Daniel R. Wahl, F.I.C. as the new Agency Manager in the Pittsburgh area. Dan started in the insurance business in 1972 with one of the leading insurers in the industry. Dur­ing his career he has achieved many awards and has found much satis­faction in meeting many different people and being of service to well over 1900 clients throughout the years. Dan is thoroughly trained in estate planning and has recently completed his in-depth study to achieve the pro­fessional designation of Fraternal In­surance Counsellor. His study and training make him very well equipped to handle all facets of in­surance and certainly is ready to step in as a management leader. Since Dan started with the William Penn Association in August of 1981, he has led the Association in sales production in 1981, 1 982 and 1983. He has also achieved "Sales­man of the Month" honors on 18 separate occasions and was Sales Leader for the 1983 Sales Con­ference. During his short 2'A years with the William Penn Association, he has 620 sales with $9,548,752 in production volume and almost 1 million dollars of premium monies were brought into the Association as well. This is truly an outstanding achievement. Dan is certainly com­mitted to furthering the cause of the William Penn Association and the in­terests of fraternalism. And now, as Agency Manager, he hopes to con­tinue his fine service to the Associa­tion and its members. Dan resides in Bethel Park with his lovely wife, Mary Jean and gives all of the credit for his recent success to Mary Jean for being so supportive and understanding during some long working hours. By the way, the Wahls are also expecting an addition to their family in June. We wish Dan all the luck in his new position and look for fine and wonderful things from him in the future. ★ ★★ The Homestead Sales Office had outstanding sales results for 1983. Under the management of Ron Abels and with the hard work of his career sales staff, they led the nation in sales production for 1983. The career agents include: Dan Wahl, FIC; Andrew Uzonyi, Sam Sulkosky, Joe Barreiro, FIC; Jodene Pascarella, Mike Komar, Steve Benes, and John Ciarolla. Along with the production from some fine part-time sales staff as well, 'the agency accounted for 1500 sales with $20,700,301 in production volume and $2,938,351 in premium. A fine job to be sure. The agent of the month award went to Samuel Sulkosky in December, 1983 and to Andrew Uzonyi in January, 1 984. The career sales staff was invited to a Christmas party hosted by Ron and Sara Abels at the Mona Lisa Restaurant in Whitehall where dinner was served and later a grab bag took place. Everybody had a great time and wished Ron well in his new posi­tion as National Sales Director. It was also announced that Dan and Mary Jean Wahl are expecting their first child in June, and Andy and Anita Uzonyi will be expecting their second child in August. Dan had an outstanding year and lead the country in all four catagories: Sales —251; Face Amount Insurance —$ 2,1 62,373; Premium — $508,424; Production-$5,372,1 36. Dan has been promoted to Agency Manager for the Pittsburgh Agency and assumed his new duties effective January 1, 1984. Sam Sulkosky of the Abels Agency was runnerup Sales Representative with: 21 2 Sales. Emma Oris of the Jeff Ward Agency (Cleveland) was runnerup Sales Representative in Face amount insurance with $1,1 1 3,587. Andy Uzonyi of the Abels Agency was runnerup Sales Representative with written premium $373,174. Eight career people qualified for the Ben Franklin Award, which is $ 1 00. (Requirement —at least 1 00 written sales during 1 983).
