Metzneria cryptoxena sp. n. (Gelechiidae) Alar expanse : 14 mm. Head, thorax, abdomen white. Antennae 3/4, ringed white and light coffee­brown. Palpi twice as long as head, recurved, ascending, second joint white, thickened with loose scales, with dark brown patch on the underside extending to the outer and inner sides, third joint almost 1/2, pointed, white with small dark brown spot on the underside. Scapulae with brownish irroration. Forewings white, long, pointed. A light coffee-brownish sprinkling along costa and termen, and on whole surface of wings, the lightest parts remaining fold and dorsum. One brownish spot on base of R 2 at 1/3, one in middle of cell at !/ 2, one between both in fold, and one at end of cell at 2/3 ; cilia long, darker white with loose brown scales on base. . Legs white, on insides with the same brownish irroration. Underside of wings light whitish-grey, with some brown scales or. apex only­Cryptoxena is easily distinguished from all Middle European species by its white color (without any ochreous), having congeners only in the far south: hastella . С h г., (Biskra) is smaller (9,5 mm) with blackish pattern; insignificans W 1 s g h т., (Tenneriffe) has but two dots in cell and an ochreous streak in fold; infelix Wlsghm., (Teneriffe, Palestine) is an even stronger ochreous insect ; diamondi Amsel (Iran) has one spot in fold and one in cell. Male genital armature is shown in figures 7 (ventral), 8 (lateral), 9 (dorsal), with aedoeagus in fig. 10. Holotype: Budafok, Budapest, 29. June, 1918, (leg. U h г у k) ; paratypes : 4 females, with the respective dates : Budafok, Budapest, 11. June, 1916 ; 1. July, 1917 (two specimens), and Farkasvölgy, Budapest, 27. May, 1912 (all leg. U h г у k). Az egyik új génusz'leírását is szükségessé tette (Donaspastus gen. п. ' pannonicus sp. п.). Ez a faj már a Dunántúl több részéről előkerült, így Kaposvárról, Szárról és a legnagyobb mennyiségben a Velencei-tó fölötti Meleghegy legelőiről.
